Traveller's Rest 1770 Eco Camping

Traveller’s Rest 1770 Eco Camping is excited to host their first guests in their brand-new, eco-friendly Tiny House Accommodation, as well as winning the Gladstone Chamber of Commerce and Industry Award for Tourism, Travel and Accommodation 2025.

Guests are often surprised how easily they connect with nature once arriving at Traveller’s Rest 1770 Eco Camping. Thanks to Michi and Mike’s combined knowledge of native bush tucker, bush medicine and local wildlife, the campground has been thoughtfully shaped into an ideal destination for nature enthusiasts.

Wander the elevated bush boardwalk, take a self-guided interpretive walk, or pause at the bird hide to spot the many species that thrive in the surrounding bushland. Guests can also join a guided bush-tucker walk directly from the park, learning about the local environment and the cultural stories connected to the land.

Evenings often bring guests together for Mike’s Moonlit Tales, a warm community moment where travellers share stories, learn about the region and soak in the peaceful atmosphere under the stars. Traveller’s Rest 1770 Eco Camping is proud to announce another valuable partnership for 2026 with Kui Parks. KUI PARKS are a proud network of independently owned caravan parks who provide accommodation options that are clean, well-presented and great value for money.

Mike’s passion for tour guiding has been recognized by becoming a Board Member for Savannah Guides. Savannah Guides work with many of Australia’s leading tourism, environmental and community organisations to pursue our Mission of being an economically sound, community based professional body which maintains high standards of:

  • Interpretation and public education
